Terve and Ciao!

I am an 27 years old girl from Finland and I am doing voluntary work in Play It! Project Italy from 1.3.2010 till 31.3.2010. My work includes doing reports of the local sport teams for this website. Im going to take pictures, write stories, interview local adults and children.

I have always had a passion for international travel and a curiosity for investigating other cultures. One of my goals for my stay in Italy is to learn more about the Italian culture and every day life. Also, I would like to learn the Italian language, but I dont know if its possible to learn that much in one month.

I have a huge interest in sports. Mostly I like to go jogging and I am also interested in gym, boxing, Body Pump and dancing. Here in Italy I play football with all girls team. It has been very interesting and fun to play with the girls. I havent played football before so I’m not that good in it, but mayby I will learn how to play during my stay in Italy. Girls play football very well and the coach is very professional too. Italian seem to be very passioned about football.

In Finland I live in the city called Jyvàskylà. Jyvàskylà has around 128 016 inhabitants . Jyvàskylà is located in the middle of Finland. When I travelled from Finland to Italy there was – 25 degrees in Finland and there was a lot of snow. In Finland we like sauna and salmiakki. Salmiakki is a finnish candy. In Finland we mostly like to play ice hockey. The finnish ice hockey team was third in the olympic games this year.

So here is a little presentation of me and my work here in Italy. I hope you will enjoy reading my reports in the future :O)

Regards

Sari
